Bio

 Dr. Christian graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Science and received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham under Air Force sponsorship.  His Internship, General Surgery residency and Cardiothoracic Surgical residency were completed at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He served as Chairman of the Department of Thoracic Surgery prior to entering private practice in 1984.  

Dr. Christian has been a member of the Heart Transplant Program since its inception in 1985 and serves primarily as the Heart Procurement Surgeon and First Assistant on heart transplant procedures. He is an independent practitioner in San Antonio, Texas.
